2009 AIDS Lifecycle

The Vertebrae gals we're out in force last night, at a fundraiser by dear friend, Marianne (mariannecampbell.com).

Marianne hosted a lovely evening (as always) in support of her brother Jamie, and his partner Adam's participation in the 2009 AIDS Lifecycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It's their 9th ride! How great is that... we did feel a little lazy as we sipped on our cocktails and devoured the delicious nibbles... but hey, we're doing our bit, every little helps right?

Seriously... sincere props go out to Jamie & Adam, well done lads!!

In a year where contributions are down, we're sure any support will be greatly received. http://www.tofighthiv.org/site/TR/AIDSLIFECYCLE8/AIDSLifeCycleCenter?px=1164726&pg=personal&fr_id=1070

Maggie May (OK, so it's still April, but that wouldn't work now would it).

A picture speaks a thousand words.

We love a good copyline, but this powerful image we created for the Ritual website shows we can keep our mouth shut too. www.ritualroasters.com whilst you're there buy some coffee, it's the bomb.

Time To Crack Open the Vegan Champagne (again)

Just two days after the Maggie Award, VegNews.com picks up another award for best website at the "Nichees"...Yeehaa! Congrats to all involved. Hair of the dog I guess?

Time To Crack Open the Vegan Champagne

Our strategy of "Reach Out, Don't Sell Out" for this San Francisco niche brand continues to march on. VegNews, our most in depth and successful vegan brand to date, swept the floor at the Maggie Awards again this year.

VegNews Magazine took home Best Lifestyle Magazine for the second year in a row (our tone/voice and creative design guideline still cuts through the clutter years later it would appear)... and if that wasn't exciting enough, http://www.vegnews.com won Best Magazine Website the very first year they entered the category. As you can imagine, the Vertebrae crew popped a few corks, especially Aimee, who worked her organic cotton socks off on this one. We designed & developed the site with one goal; to become the premier vegan destination... which they are well on their way to achieving. VegNews is now well and truely more than a just magazine, it's the premier Vegan lifestyle brand.

We're delighted for our long time friends/clients Joe and Colleen and the whole VegNews gang. Fantastic, passionate business people who aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in.

As the magazine/print news industry as a whole takes a hit, it goes to show that niche, is the future. Take note Small Business... trying to be all things to all people, aint cutting it these days.

Oh and if you're looking for a good bottle of local vegan champagne try: http://www.domainecarneros.com

Cheers!
